Infant classroom
classroom information and daily schedule
The Infant classroom at Junior Jets has a teacher to child ratio of 1:5 and a maximum licensed group size of 10. This room serves children ages 6 weeks to 18 months, and they transition to the toddler room when they are comfortably walking on their own, drinking whole milk from a cup, and are down to one nap per day. Our day in Infants begins with drop off and teacher greetings at the door, then the teachers wash the children’s hands before setting them down for free play or one on one time with the teacher. The schedule in the Infant classroom is catered around the needs of each individual child and may change day to day. Children are given a bottle as needed throughout the day with parent’s choice of Junior Jets provided formula or breastmilk or formula from home. Diapers are changed every 2 hours or as needed. Naps are also as needed throughout the day. We practice safe sleep at Junior Jets with the back is best policy for every nap time. Children who are old enough for table food have breakfast at 7:45, lunch at 11:00, and snack at 2:30. Weather permitting, children go outside in the morning and afternoon. Though it is a group care setting, the infant classroom is all about individualized care. Teachers support the children with their personal growth and development, and spend quality time bonding with each individual child. In between feedings, diapers, and nap time, children enjoy one on one cuddles from teachers, supervised tummy time, or playing with developmentally appropriate toys until parent pick up time.
